Wedding Music Indiana's event coordinator Deb Shebish began her musical career as a classical violinist; receiving a Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from Indiana State University. She broadened her musical horizons by learning different styles such as Celtic, old-time and jazz fiddle. In 2006, she received a masters degree in Scottish Ethnology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, focusing her thesis on how traditional fiddle is taught in the Orkney Isles, Scotland.
Over the past 17 years, Deb has performed in many capacities: in orchestral settings, touring nationwide as part of several musical shows, as a performer/researcher in Scotland, and of course, providing music for weddings, receptions, and other special occasions. In addition to performing, she is a private violin instructor with the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, an affiliate of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
